Boracay, Aklan, Philippine Islands (2005-04-01)

Located just northwest of mainland Aklan, Boracay is often regarded as having one of the worlds
greatest beaches. White Beach as it's name implies is a stretch of all white sand, and very
beautiful clear water with a green hue. Unfortunately there was some seaweed coming on the shore
which obscured the clarity of the water. It was still very beautiful though.
Getting to Boracay is a nice experience in itself. Coming from Manila or Cebu you can fly to
Kalibo airport (about 30 minutes from the boat station to Boracay), or Caticlan airport (about
5 minues). I chose Caticlan to be closer. Once you get to the boat station it's just about
a 10 minute ride to the island of Boracay.
The resorts are fabulous, food is top notch, and the beach is always beautiful! Sunset is one
of the great daily activities that shouldn't be missed.
We did many things for a decent price compared to other beach areas in the US. For 1500 pesos
(less than $30) we got ourselves our own boat, did snorkeling for 4 hours and even hung out
on a deserted stretch of beach for a little bit. Jet-skiing was 2800 pesos (about $50) for 1 hour.
Maybe that's not the best price for Jet-skiing, but it was a lot of fun!

| In Tokyo-Narita, Japan | We thought SM Makati would be open at such an early time (9:50AM), but
it was 10AM!!! We had to stand there watching the guards, and then listened
to the Philippine national anthem. |

| A lot of hot humidity + cold dry air from the air conditioning system =
in-cabin clouds :) |

| The plane we boarded (an Asian Spirit Dash-7) had very crappy windows, so
the old plane outside looks even worse. | |

| Super duper short final | South East Asian airlines plane (not ours). Looks like an MU-2 huh? |
