Toulouse, France (2005-12-12)

I left Paris-Orly for Toulouse on Air France. It took about 45 minutes to get from the
Pont de l'Alma station to the Pont de Rungis station where I took a bus to Orly airport.
I thought it would take less time than going to Charles DeGualle airport since it's closer,
but it took about the same time. And I might have saved a little less than 2 Euros on the RER!
I'm rich now. French airports are a symbol of commercial air travel freedom. I mentioned
CDG not having any customs at all, they also don't make you do pointless things like take
out your laptop and take your shoes off. On top of that, my 37 euro flight to Toulouse
which lasted an hour came with a cheese or salmon sandwich! What a great country... US airlines
would just give you a kick in the butt for free.
I explored Toulouse a little bit. To my surprise, it was a very
beautiful city. I spent most of my time near the Palace Du Capitole where
they had a Christmas market just like the one in the La Défense area of Paris.
I didn't buy too much, but more than I did in Paris. I figured that shopping
in Toulouse would save me a lot more money. I'm not a shopping expert (a girl),
but around Toulouse they have almost any kind of shopping you can ask for, and most
likely at a much lower price than Paris. Later at night I walked to the
Grand Rond Point Boulingrin which turned out to be nothing, well maybe an unlit park,
but nothing picture worthy. After that disappointment I had a nice walk across the
Pont Saint Michel bridge which crosses La Garonne, it had a nice view and the other side had
some nice shops. At that point I briefly had the stupid thought of walking back to Blagnac...
I talked myself out of that quickly, mostly because of a 0 degrees Celsius sign and a lack
of feeling in my face.
